Bangladesh will give one million dollars to the United Nations Victim Support Center

Sheikh Hasina, who is in New York to attend the 72nd session of the United Nations General Assembly, pledged to stay in the meeting with UN Secretary General's initiative to stop sexual harassment and harassment.

He said that Bangladesh has set an example of highest sacrifice and professionalism in the campaign to establish peace by honoring religion, culture and social values.

"The sacrifice of 132 heroic children in UN peacekeeping mission has renewed our commitment to establish peace."

The Prime Minister said that Bangladesh remains steadfast to continue meaningful participation in the peace and security of the United Nations through its peacekeeping program.

He also said that Bangladesh is very seriously seen by peacekeepers so that no one is sexually abused or harassed.

Sheikh Hasina said the peacekeepers of Bangladesh kept the reputation of all missions. And it has been possible due to strong moral values, effective inspiration and discipline.

He said training has been made mandatory to protect against sexual assault and harassment before sending to the peacekeeping missions. If anyone is accused of sexual harassment, action is being taken against him.

Bangladesh is in the front row in terms of participation in UN Peacekeeping Operations. At present, 7 thousand 13 Bangladeshis are participating in UN Peacekeeping missions, of which 213 women are involved.

Hundreds of 132 peacekeepers from Bangladesh have been killed in the peacekeeping mission since 1989.

The Prime Minister said, "Our contingent commander has been given legal and administrative powers to identify any allegations of sexual harassment and harassment in the peace mission. They can investigate and prosecute complaints in the mission area. Most senior peacekeepers can take punishment for the crimes of Bangladeshi peacekeepers in his mission area. "

In a meeting with the Pakistani army and their associates in 1971, Sheikh Hasina also mentioned about the violence against women in Bangladesh.

He said that during the liberation war, two lakh women were victims of sexual violence by the Pakistani army and their allies.

In the meeting, Bangabandhu's contribution to the rehabilitation of the Prime Minister also mentioned in the Prime Minister.
